This week's classes have been so fun, and messy too. I've been trying to work in a "Giftables Class" all year. And finally, last night we made silk scarves. The one at the left is made with Baroque Motifs, Crushed Curry, Dusty Durango, and Creamy Caramel. Since the In Colors don't come in Craft Ink, I did use the classic pads (not nearly as gummy), I just won't wash it.
I plan to use the scarf to tie onto my bag at the Stampin' Up! convention, so I know for sure which one is mine. I do have to admit that I love to hear other demos ask "how did you do that?!"
Next Month (Thursday, August 27th) we will be making framed art.
In the Crazy for Card Class, we made 2 cards and a 3-D item; I'll post those projects soon. The 3-D item is the die-cut Scallop Bags, stamped with glue and glittered. Lots of purple glitter!
Tonight is the first Friday Night Girl's Club in the new format. Through the years this club has evolved a few times, and now we are changing to add templates. My hope is that it will help everyone learn to use the stamps and paper they have collected. At the same time, we will be building a book of card templates with alternative color palettes. As always, I'll be working in techniques and fun embellishments.
Earlier this year, I added "Kid's Classes" to my schedule, and so far we have made some really fun projects. Tomorrow we will be making Monogrammed Mini Lunch Boxes, and corner book marks. It too, will be a messy one, when we cover the chipboard letters with Iridescent Ice embossing powder. Ohhhh, sparkly. There have been a couple requests to do "boy projects", (this makes me smile) stay tuned.
Here are some more scarves from last night. I had a blast, and was totally amazed at how each person made it her own. Click on the scarf, to open a larger image.
Above: Baroque Motifs, Dian, Wings of Friendship, Simple, Friendship.
2nd Row: Gina, Jeannie, Judy, and Krista
This was my sample. I absolutely love everyone's project. This inspires me to change my signature line to "make it your own!". Thanks ladies!
Hope you can join us next month to make framed art.
